Naturopathic Principles

First Do No Harm (primum no nocere)

The Healing Power of Nature (vis medicatrix naturae)

Identify and Treat the Cause (tolle causum)

Treat the Whole Person (in perturbato animo sicut in corpore sanitas esse non potest)

Prevention (principiis obsta: sero medicina curatur)

Doctor as Teacher (docere)

These principles represent the common bond between all Naturopathic physicians. NDs use many different healing modalities in their practices. One Naturopathic physician may use primarily botanical medicine while another may specialize in homeopathy, but all are trained to apply the above principles to their medical practice.
